Coronavirus: It was not just a match but a 'biological bomb' that infected Bergamo, experts say

Atlanta vs Valencia was held two days before the first case of locally transmitted coronavirus was confirmed in Italy.

A football match played last month was a "biological bomb" that may have helped cause Bergamo in northern Italy to become an epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic.

Atalanta's home Champions League tie against Valencia, held two days before the first case of locally transmitted coronavirus was confirmed in the country, has been dubbed "Game Zero" by local media.

More than 44 thousand fans, including around one third of the population of the province of Bergamo in the Lombardy region, attended the last-16 first leg at the San Siro stadium in Milan on 19 February.

It was billed as the biggest game in Atalanta's history.

Nearly 2,500 fans of the Spanish club also made the trip.

More will have gathered in homes, bars and clubs to watch the match, which Atalanta won 4-1, sparking jubilant scenes inside and outside the ground, on television.

Less than a week after the game, the first cases were reported in the province of Bergamo.

The total number of reported cases in Italy has increased to 80 thousand , higher than the China.

COVID-19. First country to report more than 100,000 cases.

According to the US news agency, the highest number of Corona cases reported in the United States have exceeded 100,000. And they are the highest in the world. According to the report, the Corona virus was confirmed in 15000 cases on Friday, which was less than the 16000 cases reported on Thursday, while the number of patients admitted to hospital on Friday night was 6000, of which 1,600 patients were in intensive care. Were registered while 519 deaths were registered. Corona infection was found in more than 44,000 cases.
Hospitals in infected areas, including New York, have signaled a shortage of drugs and other medical devices. While the US Navy has anchored a ship on the beach declaring as Quarantine which has a capacity of 1,000 patients.

Non availability, shortage or cost of medicine. Not an issue.

In a developing country like Pakistan we mostly encounter with the problems which are just "NO PROBLEM'' in developed countries. Among such issues health and fitness are the core ones. We are surrounded by the diseases i.e, Cardiac, diabetic, cancerous, prostatic etc etc. All these require medicines to cure or manage the diseases. Sometimes these medicines showed up with some irritative situations.
Non availability or shortage of specific medicine always remains an important issue. Along with this issue another important issue is the high prices of medicines which are  touching the sky.
But now shortage or non availability and prices are not issues any more. We will tell you how you can avoid shortage and high prices of medicines.
First come to shortage of medicine. Let's take an example which I usually quote is milk. We all know that there are many companies offering their milk in market with different names. There are just difference of names but the composition is same which is surely milk. For instance, olpar, Tarang, Milk pack etc are the brand names whereas they all contain milk.
Same is the case with medicines. There are hundreds of brands with same composition. All you have to identify is the composition which is always mentioned below the brand name. (See image for clear understanding). In case of shortage of the specific brand, simply ask the pharmacist to give you a substitute or other brand in the same composition.

Now comes about the price. There are always two type of brands. "Research'' brand and "me too'' brands. Research brands are the ones that are invented after conducting a long research. Due to which research brands usually come up with high prices. On the other hand me too brands comes in the market after getting marketing rights from the research brands and so available in cheap prices comparatively.
Me too brands from different companies comes with different prices. You can simply ask the pharmacist for the cheap brand in the desired composition.
Second you can easily search out the distribution setup of the desired brand through manufacturing company name (available on the product pack). You will get extra discount from distribution setup.

Third you can cut short the price by purchasing the high potency. For example you have been prescribed a tablet with 250mg strength and same tablet is available in 500 mg also. Ask for 500mg because higher potency comes with lower price as compared to two tablets of 250mg. But the difference may not be so high to give you extra benefit.

Hopefully you will not be worried in future due to shortage or high priced medicines.

Rupee falls, then rises amid central bank intervention

The US dollar on Friday reached a record high against the rupee at
$1 =Rs168.50 before falling lower than Thursday’s price to finally close at $1=Rs165.54 in the interbank market.

This represented a slight gain of 59 paisas in the local currency, compared to the opening value of Rs166.13.

Over the shortened week, the exchange rate has seen significant movement with the dollar jumping by Rs6.53 from Rs159.01 on Tuesday, which represents an increase of 4.1pc.

Bankers said that the dollar was traded as high as Rs168.50 during the session on Friday but intervention from the State Bank of Pakistan forced the rupee to make some gains

British PM Boris Johnson tests positive for coronavirus

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is self isolating but will still lead the government’s response to the outbreak.

Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus, Johnson said. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.”

A Downing Street spokesman said Johnson, 55, experienced mild symptoms on Thursday — a day after he answered at the prime minister’s weekly question-and-answer session in the chamber of the House of Commons.

The prime minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, the spokesman said.

The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive, the spokesman said.

On Wednesday, 71-year-old Prince Charles had also tested positive for the disease.

The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Coronavirus, Clarence House had said in a statement. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.

COVID-19: US overtakes China with most cases

The US now has more confirmed cases of coronavirus than any other country, with more than 85500 positive tests.

According to the latest figures collated by Johns Hopkins University, the US has overtaken China 81,782 cases and Italy 80589.

But with almost 1300 Covid-19-related fatalities, the US death toll lags behind China 3291 and Italy 8215.

The grim milestone came as President Donald Trump predicted the nation would get back to work "pretty quickly".
Asked about the latest figures at a White House briefing on Thursday afternoon, President Trump said it was "a tribute to the amount of testing that we're doing".Vice-President Mike Pence said coronavirus tests were now available in all 50 states and more than 552000 tests had been conducted nationwide.

Mr Trump also cast doubt on the figures coming out of Beijing, telling reporters: "You don't know what the numbers are in China."

But later, he tweeted that he had had a "very good conversation" with China's President Xi Jinping.

"China has been through much & has developed a strong understanding of the Virus. We are working closely together. Much respect!" President Trump said.
